crisp adj. ¹ light ² sharp
Every image on your site, crisp. Both ways.
ImgCrisp makes your WordPress images lighter without a visible change in quality, and sharpens the soft ones with AI. Every change is on the record, and every change can be undone.

You have probably been told a nicer number than the real one.
Image plugins tend to count what flatters them. ImgCrisp hands you a receipt instead. This one is real, from salifeline.org, a nonprofit site running ImgCrisp.
crisp ¹ · What happens to one upload
You upload one photo. Every visitor gets the lightest copy their browser can use.
- 01
You upload, as usual
Switch on automatic optimization once, and nothing else changes in how you work. Existing images are handled by Bulk Optimize.
- 02
Our service does the heavy work
Compression runs on the ImgCrisp service, not on your hosting. Your site stays fast while it happens.
- 03
Every size, every format
A recompressed original plus WebP and AVIF of each size WordPress makes. Photo-like PNGs also get a JPEG; transparent ones a compact PNG.
- 04
The right file reaches each visitor
Modern browsers get AVIF. Older ones, search crawlers and social shares get the light fallback, not the heavy original.
- 05
It goes on the record
The ledger notes what changed and what it saved. The original waits in a backup in case you want it back.
It also catches the images themes forget. When a template prints a full-size photo with no smaller options, ImgCrisp offers the sizes WordPress already made, so a phone stops downloading a desktop-sized file.

Drag the bar. Right shows more of the small original; left shows more of the upscale.
crisp ² · AI upscale, optional
Blurry hero image? Fix it, with the price shown first.
- Finds undersized images, featured heroes included, and checks the live page actually shows them.
- Warns before any enlargement past 3×, where quality starts to slip.
- Shows the credit cost and waits for your OK. Cancel spends nothing.
- Updates every post that shows the image, so the page gets what you paid for.
Pay for smaller files. Nothing else.
The plugin is free and complete. Credits pay for the service’s work, and they are shared across all your sites.
- No smaller file means no charge
- The same image is never charged twice
- Upscale cost shown before you confirm

One optimization covers an image and all its sizes and formats: 30 credits. One AI upscale, including optimizing the result: 210 credits.
Exactly what leaves your server.
Sent, when an image is optimized
The image file, its file name, your quality and format settings, and your API key. For an AI upscale, the service passes that one image to the specialist provider that runs our super-resolution model. Your site never contacts that provider itself.
Never sent
Your posts, your visitors’ data, or anything else on your site. Health reports are off until you switch them on, and even then they hold counts and versions, not images.
Good questions
Will optimizing my photos reduce the quality?
No. ImgCrisp saves the same picture in lighter formats. If an image can’t get smaller without a visible change, the original is kept, and you aren’t charged.
How do I undo an optimized or upscaled image?
Find the image in the ImgCrisp report and press Restore original. The backed-up original comes back and WordPress rebuilds its sizes. For an upscaled image, posts that were switched to the upscaled file need a quick edit afterwards.
What does a credit buy?
One optimization covers an image with all its sizes and formats: 30 credits. An AI upscale is 210 credits, shown before you confirm. Images that got no smaller cost nothing.
Does it work with my theme and Yoast SEO?
It works with standard WordPress images in any theme, including images a theme prints at full size. With Yoast, share previews and image sitemaps get the lighter files too.
Will it slow down my site while it works?
No. Compression runs on the ImgCrisp service, not your hosting. If the service is busy, images wait their turn instead of failing.
Who makes ImgCrisp?
Fullspec Studio, a small WordPress and SEO studio. We built it for our own clients’ sites first.
