ImgCrisp is a WordPress plugin and an image service (api.imgcrisp.com) made by Fullspec Studio LLC, 6234 W Spray Lake Dr, West Jordan, Utah 84081. This page explains what we collect when you use the plugin, the service and this website, what we do with it, and what we never do. If something here is unclear, write to us.

The short version

What the plugin sends, and when

The plugin talks to the ImgCrisp service when you upload an image (only if you have switched on automatic optimization of new uploads), run Bulk Optimize, ask for an upscale or a re-optimize, and when its queue retries or finishes that work in the background.

The plugin does not send your posts, comments, users, customers, visitors’ data or anything else from your database.

Health reports (off by default)

If you switch on health reports in the plugin’s settings, your site sends a short report once a day, and straight away if optimization keeps failing. A report holds your site’s address, the time, the plugin, WordPress, PHP and service versions, whether the service and your key work, the state of the optimization queue, image counts and coverage, and whether modern formats are being served. It holds no images, no error details and none of your quality, format or exclusion settings. We use reports only to spot problems before you have to tell us about them. You can switch them off at any time.

Support bundles

The plugin can build a diagnostics file for you to download. It never leaves your site unless you send it to us yourself. It hides your API key and contains no images.

What happens to your images

The service makes your image smaller in memory and returns the results to your site, where they are stored. It does not save your images on our servers.

For an AI upscale, the service passes that one image to a specialist upscaling provider, which runs the super-resolution model that enlarges it. Your site never contacts the provider itself. The provider keeps the upscaled result for up to 7 days so your site can collect it, then deletes it.

Every original is backed up on your own site, so you can restore any image, one at a time.

Your account

[Accounts and billing are not live yet. When they are, this section will describe them. As planned:]

This website

Who else processes data for us

Provider What it does for us What it receives
Fly.io Runs the ImgCrisp service, in the United States Images while they are processed, and service logs
Upscaling provider Runs the AI model for upscales you confirm The one image you asked to upscale
Vercel Hosts this website and its visit statistics Standard request data from your browser
EmailJS Delivers contact form messages What you type into the form
Stripe Takes payments (when billing launches) Your payment details

We share data with these providers only so they can do these jobs for us. If you would like the name of a provider listed here by its role, ask us and we will tell you. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

Logs

Like any web service, ours records each request: the time, the address it came from, what was asked and whether it worked. Logs never contain image contents. We use them to keep the service running, find faults and stop abuse, and keep them for 30 days.

Where data is processed

The service and this website run in the United States. If you are outside the United States, your images and requests are processed there.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To make a request, write to us. We will reply within 30 days.

Children

ImgCrisp is for people who run websites. It is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we will also say so in the plugin’s changelog before it takes effect.
